Tutorial - FCPX - Setting up your Keyword Collections

When you start an FCPX project I always want to get organized early because it makes me think more clearly about how to find things. This is the way I set up my Keyword Collections and organize them into folders.

Hey Chris. I basically do the same set up. I don't have a way to automate it but you can save an empty or "template" FCPX EVENT with all your folders and key word structure (but no media). Then when you start a new FCPX EVENT, you open the "template event" and drag your folders and keywords into a new event before importing your media. It saves some time. I keep a copy of my template event on all of my drives so I can always start a new event all set up correctly.

I am trying to optimize my collaboration procedure, how do you share keywords? I want to give a project to an editor, have them work in a project, but also organize with keywords, favorites, rejected etc. I then want to bring that project onto my machine and have all of those keywords, favorites, rejected clips, ranges...everything still there for me to use.

I have done a test where I tried to simply drag the keywords from event to event (both events have the same media as I "duplicated" the project (and all referenced events) in the beginning.

Any thoughts. Seems like I am missing something easy here
