is there any way you can get transcripts of your videos, or at least enable the captioning for us Deaf video peeps? your tutorials have so much content, it'd be nice to get the full information!

I will gladly look into turning on the captioning. I had no idea that was something I had to enable. I don't have transcripts cuz it's all unscripted. I'll look into it today. Thx for the heads up.

Thank you for the tutorial, has been very helpful to me.
I do have one more question: Is Final Cut always recompressing the files during the Log and Transfer process or is it possible to copy them without any changes? (Will it do anything to ProRes files?)

Greetings,
Simon

The P2 data is what is called MXF format... I don't even know enough about but to tell you, its gotta be "Log and Transferred"... Its just the way it is.

I do think you can make the stuff ProRes if you want while you transcode and bring the files in.

Check at 2:55 on this tutorial http://chrisfenwick.com/home/2010/3/20/tutorial-canon-eos-plug-in-for-fcp.html to better understand the setting for making things ProRes... I think you can change the stuff to ProRes. Sorry if you can't, i'm just too tired to check it right now.

The thing is that i am planning to get a HDSLR soon, too. I saw your "Converting 5D & 7D Movies" Tutorial, where you presented a postpro workflow with MPEG Streamclip. Since I think this process would fit me best, I am just wondering, if FCP would reencode the files (MPS generates) to ProRes again during Log & Transfer?
However the matter has resolved itself as I found this http://rarevision.com/5dtorgb/ plugin for FCP, which should provide even better results. Gonna test it, as soon I have my DSLR... ;)
Thank you for your help anyway!

Greetings,
Simon
